The Practice
Care that treats the whole pattern
Allison Easton is a licensed acupuncturist who grew up in Oswego, New York, and graduated from the University of Rochester in 2006. She went on to train in Traditional Chinese Medicine, then practiced in Hawaii for eighteen years before coming home to Rochester — bringing back the medicine she built her career around: warmth, hands, plants, and time.
Her care is one-on-one, always. No rotating roster of technicians, no being handed off mid-treatment. Your first appointment is longer than the ones that follow, because she takes a full history — not just the symptom you booked for, but sleep, digestion, stress, cycles, and how you feel across a typical week. Traditional Chinese Medicine reads the whole pattern, and the pattern is what gets treated.
She practices in a treatment room designed as a Hawaiian escape: an ocean mural along one wall, fern wallpaper along the other, warm rattan light, and the smell of botanical oil. It isn't decoration. A nervous system that feels safe downshifts faster, and that's when the pins do their best work.
Acupuncture also isn't one technique. Style varies widely depending on where a practitioner trained, which is why choosing an acupuncturist should feel like choosing a primary care doctor — someone who works with you, listens, and adjusts as you go. Communication during treatment is part of the medicine here. Tell Allison what you're feeling and she'll adjust in real time.
She is also the practice's pediatric specialist, and one of very few people in the Rochester area treating children with acupuncture at all. Children respond faster than adults, because their systems haven't had decades to entrench a pattern — most children she treats feel back to normal after a single treatment. So she explains the options and lets each child choose what feels most comfortable: laser stimulation, acupressure, seed acupressure, facial pins, or standard pins. No cupping on children. For infants and toddlers, she treats the parent while they hold the child. A parent is in the room for every visit, always.
Because acupuncture works on the nervous system rather than on a single joint or muscle, it sits naturally alongside your chiropractic care here — one restores structure, the other restores the signaling that tells that structure how to behave.
“Most people feel very little on insertion — a brief tap, then a dull ache or a “grab” in a tight muscle. What they notice next is the shift.”
